Koziakas – Part Ι
What a great scenery. The plateau is narrow, lying at the bottom of the summit and at its edge, a beautiful two-floor stone building with all the modern comforts and a spectacular view of Chatzipetros summit to the east and the mountains of South Pindos to the west.
FIRST AID KIT
During trekking, but also in camp site, various accidents might happen. So it is a must, to have a first aid kit with us. In addition to the basic ingredients described below, be sure to consult your doctor if you require specialized treatment and inform the rest of the group about it.
North Olympus mountain – Barbalas Ridge
After another two hours and a painful and ruthless climb, we are coming out of the forest. There is no path anymore but there is no orientation problem either. In front of us, there is the last steep uphill that will bring us to the summit. At last, we have arrived and it was worth every step. The view is astonishing. In front of us are, the “Papa” stream and the high peaks of the mountain of gods, Profitis Elias, Touba, Stefani, Christakis. On the other side, we are gazing at Pieria Mountains, Vrodou, the beaches of Katerini, Thermaikos Gulf and Halkidiki.
Vermio Mountain – Summits Vulgara – Tsanakis – Chamitis 2nd part
The forest road is getting narrower and slowly becomes a trail, following Northeast direction. A very well-marked and wide trail. It is early autumn, but its signs have not yet been seen on the trees that are verdant and full of life. We descend among beech trees, having as company the crunch of our steps on the fallen leaves and the broken branches, the buzzing of the bugs and the tweeting of the birds.

Hortiatis Mountain – Small summit (Kolosourtis – Alt. 1089m)
On the one hand, we are facing the lakes Koronia and Volvi, Vertiskos mountain and in the background Menikio mountain. On the other hand, the view is the whole town of Thessaloniki and Thermaikos gulf up to the first “leg” of Halkidiki.
